SIRS criteria (systemic inflammatory response syndrome)
Counts the four 1992 ACCP/SCCM SIRS criteria (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate or PaCO2, white cell count or bands); 2 or more meets SIRS. Sepsis-3 now defines sepsis by organ dysfunction instead..
Pogosh offers this calculator when a case matches pneumonia, pyelonephritis, uti, cellulitis, meningitis, septic shock. It runs only when you press Calculate.

Implementation notes
Thresholds are strict inequalities as printed, so 38.0 °C, 90/min, 20/min and 12,000/mm³ exactly do not count. WBC is entered in ×10³/µL (12 = 12,000/mm³). PaCO2 and band count are optional, and when absent they cannot add a criterion. Related calculators: qSOFA and SOFA.
